On the 28th, Kei Line Wind Services, a joint venture between Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha and Kawasaki Kinkai Kisen Kaisha, together with Japan Marine United Corporation (JMU) in Nishi Ward, Yokohama City, and Nippon Shipyard in Chiyoda, Tokyo, announced that they have received Approval in Principle (AiP) for the concept of a floating offshore wind turbine-specific vessel. This AiP certification marks progress in the development of vessels dedicated to supporting floating offshore wind turbine installations.
