On the 8th, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) announced the installation of the long-range wind observation device, Doppler Lidar, from MetOcean Solutions based in Uji City, Kyoto, onto the RORO vessel “Musashi Maru” owned by MOL Ferry in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. This initiative aims to conduct a verification experiment on the Tokyo-Fukuoka route to enhance navigation and operational safety by utilizing accurate long-range wind data provided by the Doppler Lidar system.
