On March 22nd, Shosen Mitsui Kinkai (SMK) announced the commencement of a concept study in collaboration with Asahi Tanker and Itochu Corp, aiming to introduce large-scale ammonia inland vessels capable of transporting a significant amount of ammonia as a decarbonized energy source. The concept study is set to begin in 2028 to 2029.
